Miglena Yordanova

Miglena Yordanova was born in Dupnitsa, Bulgaria. She has a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the European College of Economics and Management, Plovdiv. From January until December 2009 she was studying English at the English Language Institute of American University in Bulgaria. Currently she is getting her Masters in International Marketing in Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar”.
From 2000 until 2008 she worked as the Chief Specialist on Roma issues in the Municipality of Sapareva Banya. At the end of 2004 she set up a Youth Initiative Group, which later grew into an association "ELIT - Equality and Loyalty for Intercultural Tolerance". ELIT implemented various initiatives and activities in the sphere of education, intercultural dialogue, promoting diversity and tolerance. All the activities were accomplished by and with the youth from the municipality - both Roma and non-Roma. Currently, Miglena Yordanova is the Program Manager of "Zaedno Napred" Program in the Arete Youth Foundation. Miglena Yordanova is the first Roma women to work as Chief Specialist on Roma issues in Municipality of Sapareva Banya.
