One hundred percent of the money we raise comes from your contributions on this Web site. This enables us to keep costs down and allows more money to go to camps and students. Donating to the right cause can be difficult and confusing. Large charitable organizations can be weighed down by bureaucratic inefficiencies, meaning your donated dollar may be significantly weakened by the time it reaches its final destination. To increase  the impact of your investment dollar, we have two guiding operating principles at Arete:

Maximum impact

We believe in getting the most out of your contribution by guaranteeing that 85 to 90 percent of your donation will reach its intended recipient. Because we are primarily a volunteer-led group, our only significant cost is our part-time scholarship program director, who assists candidates and ensures responsible spending of donated funds. For camps, we keep costs down by partnering with local nonprofit organizations. Camps and scholarships are both monitored by our Areté team.
