GLOW kicks off its 2012 Fundraising Campaign!
As the new year begins, the GLOW team is already way out in front. They are kicking off their 2012 fundraising season with $1,000 in the bank already - earned through bake sales and hitting the streets of New York. As a supporting organization of GLOW, Arete continues to see great improvement towards sustainability each year. It is amazing to think that since 2000, GLOW has made an impact on the lives of 732 young women, empowering them to be leaders within their community.
Our role at Arete is to provide the GLOW team with support, encouragement and a platform to financial sustainability - much as Peace Corps volunteers have done for the last 12 years. Having said that, it is the women of GLOW who make this leadership academy run year after year. It is their strong belief in themselves and their mission to educate young women - future leaders of our global society - that keeps the program running.
However, this effort doesn't happen without broad financial support. Please consider getting involved and helping GLOW reach their goal for 2012!

There is a Bulgarian proverb that says, “New year, new luck.” This upcoming 2012 will be the Girls Leading Our Word (GLOW) Leadership Academy’s eleventh year of changing the lives of young Bulgarian females. With your support, the camp can continue to strengthen the leadership skills of young women this year.
Plans are already underway for GLOW Leadership Academy 2012 to bring together 80 young women, ages 14-18 to the old capital -Veliko Tarnovo where we will provide them with an incredible experience, building up the leaders of today. The summer camp is designed to give the brightest minds of Bulgaria the skills, training and confidence to become leaders within their community. We help build their understanding of active citizenship and empower them with the knowledge and skills to make a difference. 732 young females couldn’t have done this without your support and we hope you will continue your commitment to the youth development again this year.
